Signet Ring

Janelle Harris - Creative Writer

Signet Ring - a ring that was used as a means of identification for relatively important people.

In ancient times, the signet ring was engraved with a symbol (a coat of arms or initials) identifying a particular person, often a king. In modern times jewelry pieces likened unto this nature can be found as symbols of Greek associations, leagues or an alumni status.

It's popularity in the fashion scene is selective and most often is associated with the more mature members of the trendsetting community.

What's your association?

In Genesis 41:42 (NKJV) it reads, "Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.”

In biblical times only men who the king found honorable enough to represent him in his absence had the privilege of wearing such rings.

Let your conduct be worthy of such honor and everyone will see the King's authority you operate in!
