Jorrie Muniz - Creative Writer The closet of a man is a very personal and an efficient
extension of who he is. Men who appreciate fashion are
focused on the quality of their attire. As logical thinkers,
quantity is unnecessary - but quality is very necessary. As the
saying goes, “less is more".
Tip: Get rid of any closet
clutter lacking purpose.
Your closet reveals volumes about you so cover the bases with these
basic strong colors for anchoring your wardrobe:
Don't Slack on Black – Own several pair of black slacks
(dress and khaki-style) with varying types of fits. Expand your
drobe by mixing and matching for days.
Light, Medium and Different Shades of Blue
Shirts - Offers versatility; Can be dressed up or down;
Makes great dress shirts and even better casual wear. Sport with or
without ties; with or without a blazer. Works well with any skin
tone.
Tan and Navy Blue Khakis –
Semi-dress it up with a sweater, shirt and tie. Tone it down with a
button-up, no tie.
White Shirts – Crisp white
shirts go without saying. You can never own too many.
MORE BASICS
Suit up - Suits are the most
individually revealing clothes a man can ever wear. Every man
should have a black suit (or 3) in his arsenal. Perhaps a dark
blue. Black, blue, tan or any other color - a well fitted suit
tailored to your frame are your signature pieces.
Once you've covered your bases with the basics you can spice up, be
creative and expand your shirt, tie and sweater color palettes that
will leave clues of your boyish impulses and controlled sense of
humor: purples, reds, greens and yellows.
Shoes – Hands down, shoes are
the cross on the T’s and the dot on the I’s! Even if your lay for
the day is so-so, your shoes have the power to make (or break) the
outfit. It ties (buckles or zips) it all together and should say so
with confidence in your step.
Ultimately, what you wear should be a visual expression of who you
are at the core: self assured, decent, controlled, current, sharp
and STRONG. The closet of a man who is whole, complete and on an
adventurous path of self improvement will also have the most
important item filling his closet, and that is prayer. A man of God
holds the power of the universe in his heart when he goes before
God in prayer. He shows himself a worthy man when he humbly seeks
after God and the wisdom that only time with God can give.
Men of sincere quality serve the Creator of the Universe. They are
the true warriors of this world. A man who has a quality mindset
and covers his body with the same appealing quality is one
desirable, powerful and unstoppable man. See Related Features
