Resurrecting the Champ!

Sports Jackets and Suit Separates by Stitched

Bring it on! Sports coats are making a significant comeback and they are doing it with a new class and powerhouse force. Never underestimate the infamous saying, “What goes around comes around”. It was 1988 when Marco Polo of Stitched wore his last sport coat before this year. There are two major reasons for this resurrection:

1.First - fashion forward men enjoy showing their creative side by mixing, matching and bringing it all together in a casual and yet sharp flair. The infamous and classic, Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney have regained their popularity as well. In my opinion, they pioneered the suit separates and made them look good.

2.Second- the more suitable reason. Versatility or you may hear the words multi-functional. In this economic climate people want more for their dollar spent and still with plenty of versatility.

Buy a sports jacket and create three distinctive outfits.
  • Throw it on with a pair of jeans when traveling to a near or distance land. In the morning in New York and in the evening in Florida. When shooting pool with the boys or dinner date with the lady. It still says you can handle business if the need arises.
  • Throw it on with a pair of slacks and you are now business casual.
  • Throw it on with a pair of slacks, pocket square and tie and you have created a look that will rival a 2 piece traditional suit any day, any time and any place.
Resurrection is an amazing process of breathing new life into that which has expired! It’s happened with the sports coat and Christ Himself. As, men we tend to settle into our routines and forget that we need to “mix it up” now and then with God and breathe new life into ourselves as well as our wardrobes!
