I have found that a
woman’s handbag vocalizes a lot about the woman.
Free spirited, artsy woman lean strongly to the Hobo bags—you can throw anything and everything in them and you are always ready for whatever opportunity arises.
Professional woman sport a small and efficient purse. Usually with a strap since they juggle between careers, home, kids, and friends. They are big enough for money, lipstick and insurance cards but little else. These women have no time to mess with looking for the unnecessary.
The career mom usually has a tote. This is a woman who thinks ahead and is prepared for the needs of her family. If you ever find yourself in need of something, anything, look for the career moms, they are equipped.
Women who appreciate vintage seem to lean toward the still stylish clutch of the fifties. And they very often still pair it with matching flats!
Now comes evening and all women change into “a woman.” We dress to make ourselves, our spouses, and man friends appreciate us and other women wish they were us. We make certain that the evening bag we have is stylish and that it has just the right amount of sparkle to attract the right kind of attention. It’s good to be a woman. It’s fun to explore handbags. But being a woman is rooted deep inside. I love handbags! Based upon the amount of handbags I own some would say I have a handbag fetish. I would have to agree. They are “fun”. Although I have to say there is no rhyme or reason in the way I rock them. I love the style of the vintage, the efficiency of the clutch, and how large bags carry my load. I believe a simple handbag can change an outfit, inspire innovation, and promote individualism. All you have to do is pick it up, toss it over your shoulder, and step out! It really is just that simple.
