Eyes That Don't See

Jorrie Muniz - Creative Writer
According to recent research, eyes are one of the first thing people notice about each other. Eyes are how we connect at a deeper level with each other. Truth can be read the truth in people’s eyes. Eyes are a main attraction when it comes to make-up.

Scripture talks about the eyes that cannot see. Never choose to be the one with gorgeous eyes that cannot see. It is not a physical reference but refers to spiritual blindness. We cannot see what is going on about us nor can we see the why’s of what is happening to us and around us.

Eyes that are smoky, daytime, sexy or plain are still beautiful. (Click Her on Video Tip: Getting the Perfect Smoky Eye). Make-up and the right know-how can create the illusion of beautiful eyes. But, it is not what one looks at with their eyes that are important, it is what they see. We look at a beautiful woman and see the outside beauty but if our spiritual eyes are 20-20 we may see a lonely, struggling woman. On the other hand, a haughty look shows us an ugliness that destroys her outer beauty. We can also see a deeper beauty on the inside of someone who may not have the same outer beauty but when we see his or her beauty we then see a beauty that outer beauty cannot touch.

Outer beauty fades with age but inner beauty can greatly increase with age. The motion picture “Shallow Hal” visually expressed this very message. The main character was given the amazing gift of seeing people for who they really were and many that the world found beautiful appeared to be vile looking as to where those with pure, compassionate hearts who appeared to be plain or unattractive on the outside were, in comparison gorgeous. We all should be so blessed as to have 20/20 spiritual vision and be blinded to what the world accepts as beautiful. See Related Features
