Don't Leave Home Without It

THIS IS NOT A TEST. It is your life. Without looking, what do you have with you right now in the bag you carry your life in? Be it a purse, handbag, messenger bag, computer bag or a sack—what items have priority with you?

Me personally, I can literally live out of my current bag. I have an amazing black leather backpack purse-small enough to look like a purse but large enough to keep me alive in the wilderness for a few days! Right now, my purse has in it: a wallet with money, family pictures, ID’s, a firefighter prayer, discount cards to national restaurant chains, phone numbers, credit cards and business cards. I also have the “pretty me up” essentials: brush, multiple lipsticks, gloss, mint flavored toothpicks in sealed plastic, a toothbrush with paste carry kit, and mints. Then we move into the keys, a small note pad and pen, safety pins, band-aids and alcohol wipes, Splenda packets and compact bottle of Febreze fabric refresher. Oh - and a bottle of water!

Most of the things I just shared with you are useless ninety-eight percent of the time, but when I need it I am prepared. How well prepared are you? What is the one most important thing that you NEVER leave home without? I have a cousin that would say her perfectly painted on eyebrows! Sounds funny but sadly too many people leave home every day with everything except what really counts, Jesus. So before you walk out your door again, take a moment to say, “Hello Lord. Thank you for loving me. Stay with me today. After all, it’s me and you, together forever.” He is a gentleman and waits to be invited.
