Imagine in the prolific recess of your minds eye, the
blazing puckered lips of the setting sun, bending down to kiss a
precious gold leaf. Now open your eyes and indulge your senses with
this fireball orange Carnelian gold leaf pendent on gold
chain.. This necklace is a sweet addition to any
jewelry collection. Any armoire would be proud to house this
beauty! I know mine would. And artist extraordinaire,
Thembi
Palmer knows that.
Carnelian was used widely during Roman times 2,000 years before the
present era to make signet or seal rings for imprinting a seal with
wax on correspondence or other important documents. The reason, hot
wax does not stick to Carnelian. The word carnelian is derived from
the Latin word caro, carnis meaning flesh, in reference to the
flesh color sometimes exhibited. And we all know the excluviness of
gold in any form! Gold on this piece is the perfect accent to
display such a fine choice of stone.
The very presence of any shade of red, always a fav of mine and an
awesome, power color, immediately brings to mind the crimson red
blood that was shed for our sins by our sweet and precious, Lord
and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Eternal life-giving blood. That’s true
beauty. That’s true love!
